crispy buffalo chicken wings

Here’s a recipe for crispy buffalo chicken wings that are perfect for game day or any other occasion:

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs chicken wings, separated into drumettes and flats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Half teaspoon black pepper
  • Half teaspoon garlic powder
  • Half teaspoon onion powder
  • Half teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • Half cup hot sauce (such as Frank’s RedHot)
  • Half cup unsalted butter, melted
  • Blue cheese dressing and celery sticks for serving (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Place a wire rack on top of the foil-lined baking sheet.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, paprika, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper until well combined.
  3. Dredge the chicken wings in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess, and place them on the wire rack on the baking sheet.
  4. Bake the wings in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until crispy and golden brown.
  5. While the wings are baking, in another bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, hot sauce, and melted butter until well combined.
  6. When the wings are done baking, remove them from the oven and transfer them to a large mixing bowl.
  7. Pour the hot sauce mixture over the wings and toss to coat them thoroughly in the sauce.
  8. Return the coated wings to the wire rack on the baking sheet and bake for an additional 5 minutes to set the sauce.
  9. Remove the wings from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
  10. Serve the crispy buffalo chicken wings with blue cheese dressing and celery sticks on the side for a classic Buffalo wing experience.

Enjoy your delicious homemade crispy buffalo chicken wings!
